The National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro conducted a monitoring visit of the Erasmus+ project Fostering Internationalization at Montenegrin HEIs through Efficient Strategic Planning – IESP on 14th April 2021. The monitoring visit was organized on the initiative of the European Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency within their regular activities of project implementation monitoring, familiarization with the achieved results and consideration of possible problems during project implementation.
The monitoring visit was an opportunity to present the achieved results including Guidelines for Internationalization of Montenegrin HEIs, Strategies for internationalization with action plans for all three Montenegrin universities, supporting documentation for internationalization and Criteria for evaluation of internationalization activities quality. The monitoring visit was a chance to present activities for procurement of valuable equipment with the aim of establishing Centres for Language Support for the process of internationalization at the University of Montenegro, Mediterranean University and the University of Donja Gorica. Representatives of the National Erasmus+ Office got acquainted with numerous training programmes and seminars held during the project implementation with the aim to build the staff capacities of Montenegrin universities for participation and providing support for the internationalization process.
Accreditation of two interdisciplinary summer schools organized by the Maritime Faculty Kotor and Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in Kotor was announced. The materials for accreditation of these schools will be submitted to the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education – ACQAHE upon receiving the opinion of the Council for Qualifications. It is expected that summer schools will be realized in August of the current year.
Representatives of the National Erasmus+ Office expressed their satisfaction with the achieved results and praised the efforts of the project coordinator and project teams of all three universities, who implemented this ambitious two-year project that is aimed at creating conditions for faster and more efficient integration of Montenegrin higher education institutions in the European Higher Education Area.
